• If you do use detergent, ensure that is iron-free and never use non-stainless steel scraping tools (spackler, file, etc), iron-based sponges or non-stainless steel wool scouring pads for cleaning the surfaces
• Oil and fat can be removed using organic cleaning agents
• Take care to remove all traces of the cleaning agent
• Weathering steel products must not come into direct contact with a salt such as road salt, as this type of deicing salt and water can damage the surface
