About the African Grower initiative
The African Grower is a hydroponic growing system — with a unique African design spin — aiming to empower communities by providing them with the tools to grow their own fruits and veggies. For every African Grower sold, a percentage of the sale will be donated to the HandPicked CityFarm — a rooftop garden initiative at Kenilworth shopping centre in Cape Town where people are trained to grow their own produce which is then sold to restaurants in the centre. The African Grower and HandPicked CityFarm are paving the way for a brighter future, where every household has access to fresh, healthy food!!

Care Instructions
- Water each individual pot and ensure that the pots stay moist
- It is advised to place your finger into the coconut coir to see moisture below the surface
- Keep watering daily (during summer) or every 2nd or 3rd day (during winter) when required
- Once the plant has run its planting cycle and you have harvested the produce, empty the pot and wash the coconut coir with clean water
- Remove the organic material such as roots from the coconut coir and then lay it out to dry
- Reload pots again with cleaned coconut coir or new coconut coir to get it ready for use again
